Does the Nine-Test Screening Battery Predict Lumbar Hyperlordosis in Adolescent Boys?
نویسندگان
چکیده مقاله:
Background and Objectives: Lumbar hyperlordosis is one of the main physical abnormalities that occur in the lumbopelvic region and affect the body movement system in daily life. This condition can also lead to chronic injuries and pain. The present study aimed to investigate the ability of the nine-test screening battery to predict the incidence of lumbar hyperlordosis in adolescent boys. Materials and Methods: This causal study described and analyzed the data with a cross-sectional design. In this regard, 60 adolescents (age range, 13 to 15 years) were selected. After the initial assessments, they were assigned into two groups: the lumbar hyperlordosis group (n = 31) and the normal lordosis group (n = 29). The angle of lumbar lordosis curvature and functional movements were measured using a flexible ruler and the nine-test screening battery instruction, respectively. The obtained data were analyzed using the logistic regression test at a significance level of 0.05, in SPSS-24. Results: The examination of the coefficients of predictive variables showed that the Wald test is statistically significant for deep squat (P = 0.023) and straight leg raise (P = 0.033). Also, these variables significantly contribute to the predictability of the model and the likelihood of lumbar hyperlordosis. Conclusion: Based on the results, the nine-test screening battery can predict the occurrence of lumbar hyperlordosis in adolescent boys through the components of deep squat and straight leg raise.

A nine-test screening battery for athletes: a reliability study.
Studies have shown that reduced neuromuscular control or strength increases the risk of acute injuries. It is hypothesized that a non-functional movement pattern can predispose for injuries. In the present paper a detailed description of a test battery consisting of nine different tests to screen athletic movement pattern is provided. The aim was to evaluate the inter- and intra-rater reliabili...

Ninety-three 1%year-olds were tested with measures thought to tap information processing, sustained attention, executive function, and intelligence. The visual fixation patterns and home rearing conditions of these adolescents, born preterm, had been observed in early infancy. Infant fixation durations were negatively associated with information processing, executive function, and intelligence ...

A test battery for identifying ecotoxicological hazards was applied to six pharmaceuticals (carbamazepine, diclofenac, ethinylestradiol, ibuprofen, propranolol, and sulfamethoxazole), to their mixtures, and to urine spiked with pharmaceuticals to test the suitability of biotests for screening urine and wastewater and for monitoring the efficiency of wastewater treatment. The test battery compri...

Diagnostic Systems was employed in order to use residual sample intended for culture. Despite this tenfold dilution and the deliberate use of clinical specimens with few inclusions in culture, all culture-positive samples were also positive by Amplicor PCR. Falsenegative PCR results in other studies were possibly the result of inhibitors in the sample. In the present study, the further dilution...

In one of the few other studies that has explored this issue, between 2001 and 2005, the Ea...
متن کاملValidating a standardised test battery for synesthesia: Does the Synesthesia Battery reliably detect synesthesia?
Synesthesia is a neurological condition that gives rise to unusual secondary sensations (e.g., reading letters might trigger the experience of colour). Testing the consistency of these sensations over long time intervals is the behavioural gold standard assessment for detecting synesthesia (e.g., Simner, Mulvenna et al., 2006). In 2007 however, Eagleman and colleagues presented an online 'Synes...
